Rich M, those industrial black and white are super. 'Strong and silent' seems to describe them, with the hard contrast and sharpness, along with a sense of immovability.

Yeah, it is a piece of true industrial design. Not the prettiest camera by far, especially with that humpy thing on the side. I like it better however than the slicker and shinier Olympus Pens and the almost noncorporeal Nexs. Looks tougher. And it works real nice! Luigi just wrote me that he should have a half-case for it soon, that might help.

I really like the GXR, but I do miss an optical viewfinder sometimes, although the VF-2 is good and, for me, a must have for the camera.
I've recently ordered an m42-M adapter to see how well my old Pentacon 135/2,8 will work with the camera, I sometimes feel the need for a little more tele than the Summicron 90/2.
Oh, and I'm still getting a bit used to the manual focus system, but the AF on my DSLR isn't better (it do focus faster than me, but not more accurate…)

I have the PK to LM adapter and use a M42 to PK ring to use my Taks. I have a lot of K-mount and M42 glass. It works very well.
I find it easier to shoot long glass on the GXR as opposed to the NEX because of the bigger grip.

Shot this one earlier in the week and I remember thinking it looked alright. When you get up close, you can see crazy amounts of detail in everything. That little 28 Elmarit ASPH is CRAZY sharp.

First time posting on this forum with the exception of hanging around the classified section 🙂
I must say that the ricoh is just amazing. I've been using it since they came out with their 28mm module and subsequently decided that I was happy enough with the quality that I was getting and decided to acquire an M mount module a few months back as well.
Even though its not the best EVF, but it definitely helps to eliminate the possibilities of back/front focusing as compared to using it on an RF (not that I dislike RFs; I think they are great).

Thank you......the short answer to your question in Silver EFEX Pro 2.0.
The longer answer is the workflow. The GXR has primarily turned into my b/w camera. I keep the EVF/LCD on in the monochrome mode......this helps me visualize the picture as I am shooting it. I import into LR and and perform all the primary functions......including black point, local contrast and spot sharpening. Export into SEP and develop using one or two base modules and then tweaking those....adding color filters and vignetting. Back into LR for final processing.
For many years I custom printed silver halide prints. I convinced many of my clients to shoot Tri-X pushed to 1000ASA and then developed with a high accutance developer (Accutane among others). This gave a certain look.....med contrast, low-med grain.....strong blacks.
This is the look I always find myself being unconciously drawn to as I develop in software. Sometimes, I wish I would break away.....go high key or ultra-high contrast.....but I am getting to where I like what I like.

This is perfect. Thank you. I think I need to try and make some more b/w images from the GXR. I keep shooting color, because I am familiar with it.
