Kathy - Miami Beach - Summer, 1978

The camera was a Nikon F2 with a 50mm 1.4 lens.

We moved to Miami when we were very young. We had a 2-year old son. At the time, I was really struggling with personal issues. When I shot this photo, Kathy was contemplating on taking our son and moving back to Texas. I talked her out of it and changed my ways. August 4th of this year, marked our 47th year together.

What a wonderful story with a happy ending, Rick! The photo of Kathy is wonderful. 47 years of being together!

Agree this is excellent. Is there some fill flash?
Thank you! No fill, just good southern California mid day sun. Epson's color is famous and when converted to B&W it has a wonderful tone. The color original RAW was converted in Silver Effex and finished in Lightroom.

Nice print, Erik. The old Nikkor is a wonderful lens.
Is Paardenmarkt like Pferdemarkt in German, or a horse market?

This is another old favorite from one of the times I went down to Patzcuaro, this time for Dia des los Muertos. These jugs are over a metre high and hand formed, no potter's wheel. After they are finished and fired they are carried to market using a tumpline by the women. I am just the messenger not the message.

And this one of an old sweetheart while we were up from Mexico visiting Oregon. This is on the beach in Oceanside, OR. This year, 2002, was a very sunny summer for the Oregon coast and I was drastically misled by that. LOL

One of my first experimentations with cloning. I shot the Statue of Liberty in June 2002 on my first and (until now at least) only trip to the US east coast with my M6 and 90mm Elmarit-M. The Rancho Palos Verdes, CA foreground was shot on my M10-P and 50mm Asph Summilux literally 20-years later. The actual filming of the relevant 1968 Planet of the Apes scene with Charlton Heston was about 30-miles north at a similar looking spot in Malibu.

I recall having used a Canon T90 with a Canon FD 300mm/4 on a tripod at Pensacola Beach after it had rained a day earlier, which allowed the reflection of the setting sun on the beach. No photoshop was done here. Most likely I used Fujichrome 100 and I was trying to capture the colors.

I was teaching some classes to students from UWF, but the classes were done in Nagoya, Japan. One of the courses was on street photography.
It was a building which had a pool as a ceiling. I was showing my students how to capture some street photos. Then I saw the man "walking on water", so to speak.

Fujifilm 100 or 200 maybe in a Canon P with a CV 25/4.
