Post your most satisfactory shot so far in 2009.

I've got lot and lots of shots I like from this year, and this one attracted me the most when going through them for this thread. This guy was just sitting on some steps in Istanbul, I guess the eyes and expression makes it top the rest.

not the best technically, but I'm pleased with the result...

Chris: Amazing. Waiting to hear your story on this one.
Agreed! Do tell!!

Ah, thanks! It's my friend Jen at the Sonora Brew Pub. I shot 35mm film in a Holga to which I have affixed a Mamiya 6 nameplate (which turned it into an RF camera.) Handheld, B mode, indeterminate shutter time. She will pose for anything.

When I shoot 35 in the Holga, I don't brace the film cassette, so the film can move around in the camera. I like the element of surprise when it happens to be in the right place when I push the button.

I guess this one is most satisifying in the aspect that this was chosen as a pic. of the week on the State of Things website, a local radio show on WUNC 91.5 in Chapel Hill. Taken with a Bessa L & 25/4 snapshot skopar. Film was expired Fuji HQ100.

I started developing my own b&w late last year, so these three mark points on the learning curve that pleased me:

Perhaps not most satisfying all year, but this one from last weekend has really pleased me. But hey, I'm a noob.
(Bessa R4a, CV40f1.4, Kodak BW400CN, or whatever the C41 B&W film is called)

I haven't been shooting for around 5-6 month. This summer the inspiration came back :) So far I only did 10-15 rolls and I think this one is the best of them all - has a mood of some sort, IMHO...

P.S. really enjoying this post!
