Post your most satisfactory shot so far in 2009.

Was everyone joking about an RFF book ? it's really a nice idea for a project, "RFF 2009", get about 100 pictures, have simple rules, add captions, tech info, inset picture of the photographer, print them up and sell at least 100 copies to the winners :)

I second the statement that there isn't a dud in the entire lot.
Lots of standouts - including Vobluda and the newborn baby and mother - something tells me that'll be one of the ALLTIME favorites for him.

Here's one that I think really worked, shot with the 35mm Ultron 1.7 wide open and the M8:

Frighteningly, this thread makes me really want kids, just to have perfect subjects at the ready anytime I want to shoot.

Tangentially related, my friend and I were discussing a couple months ago how a new baby means a camera upgrade for everyone: people with no camera buy one, people with a P&S buy a consumer DSLR, people with a nice SLR finally get a Leica or medium format camera, serious amateurs buy new lenses. We concluded that we needed kids so we could buy a new camera.

So many great shots here, I can't even single any out. I look forward to more!

Has to be this one of my son losing himself in his play:

One of the best things about children is the way they can become so engrossed in what they're doing, that they don't notice the honking great RZ67 just a few feet away. :)

I only "have" kids by proxy, but then, I never needed an excuse for the gear I have. :)

'Nuff said.

and this one i really like, phil lesh (bass player of the grateful dead) saw my m8 as I was shooting him backstage and told me he owns one and has some questions about it...

we talk camera's for a bit and i grab a frame of him, as he takes one of me (both with my m8). that was fun.

here are the frames.
