post your sony rx100 images

One from today.

froyd, these shots were taken yesterday, around midday, at a local beauty spot. Though a bright and sunny day there was a lot of cloud. These were jpeg shots, accidentally I might add as I always shoot RAW. I'd been playing with settings, like you do, and forgotten to put it back to RAW.
The highlights in the clouds had blown right out. I prefer B&W anyway so changed it with LR4. I find the jpegs from the camera can't stand much post processing but in answer to your question I did indeed darken the sky, not by much, but I am guilty:)

Paul, good stuff!

I'm new to digital so I'm actually amazed at how much I can do to the jpgs. One day I'll try RAWs, but so far I have not felt the need.

A couple of shots taken at the place I'm holding my exhibition. Both shots on JPEG setting and the second shot was taken at the longest setting on the digital zoom. Quite impressive.

Nice, kuvvy... I thought I read, a few weeks ago, that you were planning to sell the RX100. With results like these, are you now re-considering? I vote that you keep it! ;):)

Yeah, I had put the Sony in the classifieds but no takers. I've had some excellent results from it, though I usually shoot RAW. These shots, plus a few others on my Flickr, were shot yesterday on the JPEG setting and I was impressed. Still think RAW files handle PP better. That said these shots didn't need much PP anyway.
I'm in Manchester tomorrow with some other RFF pals shooting the protesters at the Tory Party conference although I will mainly shoot my Xpro I'm taking the Sony along to try out some more long digital zoom shots.

I agree - I always shoot the RX100 in Raw. That said, the Jpegs are pretty darn good, but the Raw files just give more latitude.

Good - I look forward to seeing the results... not just from a photographic viewpoint, either. It's always pleasing to see people protesting that bunch of you-know-whats.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive Kuvvy.

The RX100 is our family P&S so my wife is usually the one wielding it, while I potter about with film.... so here is a rare photo of me, holding my faithful travel companion, the Contax G, and standing in front of a Sol LeWitt wall painting.
