Post your two favorite street photos

Shot taken by an RF...yay!

Shot taken by an RF...yay!

I just realised I do have one favourite street shot taken by an RF! Taken while waiting for a train. I think the reason for taking this photo was simply because I had nothing else to do.

H* I'm withdrawing my compliment on your Girl-with-coutout-doll photo! LOL!

Actually, I don't know why I like that 'butt' shot; can't see the man's face, his legs are chopped, and the shot doesn't show any emotion either. Maybe it's the colours.

I'll try to post it in Photo.net critique forum saying it was taken with a Summicron. Maybe I will gain a couple marks hehehe.

Personally, I think Mike's photos in Turkey are absolutely outstanding. Very Cartier-Bresson (my personal hero).

Here's a shot I took on my Konica Auto S2 at the Getty Center, using Ilford XP2 400asa. It needs some editing in the darkroom, but the is the digital scan ofoto gave me.

Fun thread! I'm not sure if this photo qualifies as street photography as it's of my kids and not strangers. Also it was shot with an SLR, from before I owned any rangefinders. At least it was an old, all-manual Ricoh!

Color me ~ ; - )

Color me ~ ; - )

See, I can even take a color pic, sometimes. It's not on a "street", but do bridges count?

Encountering scenes like this is why I always keep an XA in my vest pocket. The lady looked a little lonely since everyone else left the gallery.

;) I can't say this is one of my two best street shots, but it is a rude eye-opener. If it offends, please forgive me. At the time it was hilarious. Shot with a Canonet QL17 GIII on Kodak Gold 200. The focus is a bit off because it was difficult to shoot while laughing. Enjoy.

first one

first one

well I've only recently started using a rangefinder (thanks to one of members of this forum;) so my favourite street photos were taken before than that. This one was taken with Konica Hexar af on ilford hp5+, while doing street sport project. That particular field is one of my favourites in my city due to its very urban look and diversity of characters playing football there. And this photo is of course very character based;)

and the second

and the second

this again was shot with konica hexar af, but I think it was fp4+ not hp5+ (and an orange filter). This time I've hunted for characters and situations through the carnival held on 300 years anniversary celebration of my home city (St.Petersburg, the one in Russia). This particular shot is still my favourite from the series I've done. I guess mostly due to juxtaposition of poses and intentions of characters on it. Ah and that's scan from 20x30cm print

Altert, I like your two shots, both strange and mysterious! "Characters" is a good term for the people, who seem isolated and detached from each other. I particularly like the second one.

I took these at a Flea Market a while back with my Contax IIa, 50mm 1.5 Sonnar. This is the same Flea Market I bought this camera at the year before.

Altert, that second photo is quite expressive in its simplicity. Good job! Same to you, rovnguy, for your "lonely lady" photo.

This thread has turned not into a contest, but a share-a-pic-athon. Neat! Let's keep it going... and allow me to post one more, this time from Costa Rica (entrance to the Central Market), a kind of harmonious chaos, done with a Contax G1 and Planar 35mm on Scala.

@Altert, love the tones and contrast in both of your photos. The second one is simply excellent.

@Todd, damn those are sharp..and nice tones as well... Don't make me think about a Contax IIa again... :)

@Francisco, I like how the lone girl stands out in the chaos around her.

It's all about the observant eye, and I've seen that in your shot's too.

Here`s two of my favorite street shots, both taken before I got my Bessa L-25mm/f4, so I used a Nikon F100 with a 70-200mm....
Not your typical street kit, but they got the job done
