Tim, these are gorgeous, especially the first. I love what you did with the processing too. Is the grain from lightroom?

Thanks.
I do my jpg conversion in Capture One. After working on the images in color, I do a B&W conversion with Silver Efex Pro.

Some nice images in this thread.
Is it just me or can you spot the 'V' too?

Simon, I hope you will share with us all your SEFX 2 workflow. The tonality you achieve in flat light is simply stunning!

a few first peaks from my recent trip to my good old lake geneva.
I shot the Ms mostly but did take out the x100 from time to time as well. again, great camera, these are merely out-of-camera black&white jpgs (M-size) that I quickly ran through silverefex.
I'll post a proper series with digital and film shots on flickr, have to start scanning though (and continue developing).

The best camera is one that still works!

Besides being a lovely photograph, your comment "not a spec of digital noise to clean up" is interesting.
Buried in Fuji's marketing material on the X100, they mention a great deal of design effort was invested in removing heat from the sensor. I suspected the X100's outstanding signal-to-noise is partly due to keeping the sensor region as cool as possible. Your observation about low noise for a 30 sec. exposure could be consistent with efficient sensor heat removal.

I think I got pretty decent amount of good shots today. I'm beginning to be buried with keepers because of X100.

Nice to see some non 'street' pics Jamie ... after all it is really a landscape camera by nature!

Loving that last bunch with the light and sky from Jamie and those tones in yours Keith. I'll keep trying and hope that I'll make a good digital B&W too one day!
