I rarely use flash more than 20 times in a 3-day period of travels, and I only use playback for a few seconds after each shot. But I guess it is a matter of expectation that I said that the battery life was good for me. I had expected that it would be shorter. Normally, the reason why I normally recharge the battery every third day is mainly for the peace of mind. Usually I would have at least 1/3 to 1/2 power left when I recharge the battery. If I am not on the road, I normally wouldn't bother recharging so soon when I am just doing casual shooting in town.

You already know this, but you got a fabulous deal. I used to own two D200s. I carried one every day for a while. If I found one like yours at that price, I'd probably buy it. I enjoyed B&W at ISO 800. I used mostly AI and AIS lenses. I'd definitely use the newer 35/1.8 DX lens most of the time.

i'm happy with the deal and the camera so far...i'm liking the 24 on the 1.5 crop...i have to put a halt on more lenses...my bag will not fit anymore 😉

also, the shot of my little dog was a one hander at iso 800.
 
I missed this thread...I would have suggested a D5000 as it has the same sensor your D90 has...oh well the D200 is an awesome camera...
