pricing question

I;ve been offered a bessa R, with 35/2.5 P and 75/2.5 for a set price of SGD1000. As I do not know the market prices of the gear, would appreciate some comments or advice from you guys 🙂

Is it a good buy?

www.cameraquest.com is a good place to find the price of them new. I just got the Bessa R there myself and it's a nice piece of gear.
Ebay is another good place to find prices of new (sometimes) and secondhand gear.

Stephen at Cameraquest is charging US$724.00 for this gear new, which was what begged my question. Clearly if this is new gear learner is getting a 15% discount on the U.S. price and he should go for it.

But I suspect its used so then the issue is what is the condition?

I believe the 35/2.5 P is no more in production? so I don't know how much it's worth...

Oops I missed the fact that the CV 35/2.5 is the pancake lens. I have that lens myself and its brilliant! 🙂 After it was discontinued the price went from US$189 to as much as US$250, and that does not include the little hood.

This really depends on the condition of the equipment but on the surface it doesn't sound like a bargain to me.

Alkalai here on this forum is looking for the CV 35/2.5. He's in Australia. If you pass this up send him a personal message on the forum that the lens is for sale. His tongue is hanging out for one... 😉
