Hi,
I am trying to scan some slides with the canon 8800f using Vuescan...,
but vuescan said there is no lamp on my scanner lid and there is no transparent option shown in the Media drop down box... :bang:

am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

I also have a Canon 8800F and Vuescan works with that without a problem. You should of course remove the white insert from the inner side of the lid.

I did...
I tried the Canon software and it worked well.

the scanner is actually from my friend,
and he never have such a problem... :(

Windows 7 might be a problem. I still use XP SP3.

As i understand there are 2 different versions for W7. A 32bit and a 64bit version.
Maybe you should check that out. Most software will work with the 32bit but
maybe not with the 64bit.

btw Just had a glance at the Vuescan websiter http://hamrick.com/
They just launched version 9 which should solve the Canon Transparant adapter problem with the 64bit version.

Here is the full text :

Adds 64-bit versions for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. This lets you use more scanners on 64-bit operating systems (and lets you use Canon transparency adapters on 64-bit Windows). Also lets you work easier with scans larger than 3 GBytes.

Hope this will solve your issue !

yea,
