Protective cover for back screen of M8

+1 for the Giottos Schott glass cover. Put one on my M9 ever since one of those "sticker" types didn't do much to protect the LCD of my X1. Got the Giottos for both and they're both doing they're job for me!

Heard quite a few stories of Giottos being hard to removed (one even took out the LCD with it) but have no personal experience with them.

I use a plastic generic brand cover which cost me around $10, which is attached with adhesive all around so no dust/sand gets in. It's slightly scratched after a few months of use but I don't care, I know the screen underneath is pristine.

😱😱That is risky practice which may break the seal of you LCD cover or even pull it off altogether !!! Making it a repair with a hefty price tag (the whole camera has to be disassembled).
The best way is to cut through the foam with Dental ~Floss and remove the glue rests by rubbing your thumb over them.

Beware screen covers!!!

Beware screen covers!!!

I removed a scren cover once and it pulled off my LCD cover! Than being said, I noticed it was held in with adhesive strips. This is when I realized it would be a simple do it yourself repair if you can buy the supplies needed. I would rather fix this myself, but others just like to blow money like crazy!

Cheap fix for M8's terrible screen cover

Cheap fix for M8's terrible screen cover

Like some of you, I had my M8's screen cover drop off when I removed a protector. As it was already pretty scratched, I decided to try if I could just replace it using one of the hard screen protectors.

As you can see from the picture below, it works pretty well. There's a bit of a gap as the protector is slightly smaller but the view is even better than the original cover and is a hell of a lot more durable. Plus, if you somehow manage to crack it, just throw it away and put on a new one.

Just for future googlers, the protector is a Giottos Schott glass one.
