Public Telephones

Havana - 2012: public phones remain popular in Cuba as the cost per minute to talk is minimal where cell phone costs are much higher. Unlimited use plans do not exist in Cuba.

The UJC symbol in the background is for the Union of Young Communists, a large organization that is part of the Communist party.

Are cellphone photos ok?

Unfortunately I had to crop this to get it to load on this site - there are actually three phones against a nice steel corrugated panel lit by the afternoon sun.

This was made last June at the Coalinga / Avenal southbound rest stop on I-5 in California. Other people and myself were astonished to see these - I don’t think I’ve seen a public phone in 25 years.
