Question about Epson service

I have a chance to buy a good working condition Epson R-D1. From what I've heard Epson'll not service camera anymore. Is it true? If it's not true how long they will continue to do it? What choice do I have if something went wrong?

cosina still makes cameras and parts of cameras that will work in this camera

as for electronics there are still many places to get spare electronics around the internet as well as from epson. despite officially supporting it until 2016 they'll probably continue to support it long after then just simply because it's a niche product.

i wouldn't worry about support for this camera.
