Are there any Russian M39 lenses that have a removable mount?

I.e., the back of the lens with M39 thread can be removed, and the mount is not part of the helical?

Maybe the little 39mm moutn lens for a half frame, that is 28mm focal length? Can't recall what it's called atm..

Or try Paxette lenses, they are 39mm too. Should be cheap.

All Russian RF lenses I can think of are mount and helical in one piece.

Got nice hacking plans? What are you trying to mount?

Most of the 50mm and all of the non-50mm russian lenses are more complex than a mount and a helical as separate pieces. As pointed out, the Industar 61 (and its predecessor) can have the rear mount and a flange removed. You'll have to be ingenious to mount other optics to the flange though. The Jupiter 8 has a removeable optical block (just unscrews) but that leaves the focussing mechanics behind.

...For certain amount you could mix and match focus part and optic part.
Or you could go crazy...

Hi,

Been there and done that:-

The top photo is a screen capture, when it was being cropped, and the second photo is the crop. I had to sort out the focussing scale with a tape measure and used f/4 because it was the widest. The picture was then taken at f/5.6 to give a margin of error. Obviously, the lens is not RF coupled.

i have a T-43 lens with a butt from industar-50 (the SLR version, but it's still M39), also uncoupled.

Thanks for everyone's comments...I'm looking to remove the bayonet off of a v3 Summicron 50mm, and replace it with a screw mount. Figured that hacking a Russian would be the cheapest method, although there appear to be some M39 thread adapter options on ebay that might work, with additional machining/shimming of course.

Hi,

The T3 40mm seems to be mounted on an Industar-50's back end but it's one of the early Zenit (3m) Industar-50's with the 39mm thread. Then there's a bit of tubing and the T3 fits into that. Nicely done but, obviously, scale focussing. The black lens on the left is from a 1960's Zenit.

I cleverly sorted out where it was focussed and what the scale on the mount said as a "look up" table but cannot find it... The Zenit lens mount is for 39mm x 1mm but scale focussing is for a 50mm lens so obviously wrong.

BTW, the later Industar 50-2 don't seem right for it but there were one or two variations. Anyway, there's plenty of these hybrids on ebay and some very cheap too.

I thought one of the BLIK RF's would match it but don't know what the RF's scales show. So more to go wrong...

PS (Edit) I forgot to say how pleased I was with the little lens. I should have cornered the market in Lomos etc first. You can still pick them up dirt cheaply, say a pound or so as the Cosmic Symbol is generally despised but I think it's clever piece of work. What my mother called "cheap and cheerful" many years ago.

PPS (2nd Edit) I just had a thought, it's a WA lens so not going to be critically focused close up but mostly used outdoors. So I could calibrate it as a zone focussing lens at say f/5.6 or f/8... Just a thought as it will make life lot easier.

PPPS (3rd Edit) A photo has been added...
