I have been using a Leica CL for about a month now and I love it. Now I'm thinking about getting an M9 but I was curious about a few things in comparison to my Leica CL...
Sometimes the Rangefinder Field gets lost (with my Leica CL) when I point it at certain subjects, I literally can not see it. Sometimes it's because part of the subject is really bright and othertimes because really dark. I can't predict when the area in the middle of the viewfinder tends to "dissapear" on me... This makes focusing unpredictable at best. I was wondering how much brighter or larger the Leica M9's Rangefinder Field is compared to the CL's? Are there times you can not see the double image on certain subjects you are focusing on?
The question of magnification... I'm not sure what the magnification is on my Leica CL but I know on the M9 its 0.68x what exactly is this referring to? I assume its just the appearance of what you see in the viewfinder? Does a higher magnification help focusing at all?
The shutter sound is another question. I'm pretty happy with the sound the Leica CL makes but I know its not a cloth shutter like the m6 or m7, etc... As long as the M9 is as quiet as or more quite than the Leica CL that's acceptable to me. It's hard to tell from YouTube videos.
The Leica CL uses spot metering and the M9 doesn't. My Leica CL I haven't had many problems with exposure after I figured out I had to half press the shutter -and- pull the lever out a little. How does the M9s work? I don't like using exposure compensation as I'm a manual user all the way.
