Quite an hilarious M9-P review

Must be a gag.

I love how he renders the aperture and focus completely useless, leaving you with a digital Holga (without the option of guesstimated focus) suitable only for infinity focus.

Even a complete fool could not be this incompetent. If you have the brains to pull your credit card from your wallet, you can find your way to setting the shutter dial to auto.

I cant see why everyone is confused ?. I am thinking of taking up photography again and I found the review very good, a lot of reviews are far to complicated and very confusing. The second review on the lens really helped me, so much so I have enquired locally about a Leica, a bit expensive but guess you get what you pay for so I will order one.
I like the name Leica sounds sorta cute.

I know what you mean about the lens, but didn't the video say it was 1.0? You should probably wait 'till they put out a service pack for it, at least, even if you don't wait for a newer version.

Haha. Nice.

Anyways, I don't find these videos to be that strange at all. People have money. Get over it.

Reminds me of the video of the guy with the M9 and the lens cap, haha.

Let me guess: all his pictures looked black because he didn't take the cap off?

This guy's first video has been watched 406 times already, his second video 144. Probably 98% of these are RFF members laughing their *** off. Soon he'll hit the 1,000 mark and be famous for putting a bunch of nonsense on the web.

I also found these reviews to be useful and informative. And I think the information in them will help me avoid some of the reviewer's own mistakes.

For example, when I buy an M9 I will be very sure to get the autofocus model.

Watch how he holds the camera. I always have to show people how to hold a manual focus camera. And trying to explain f-stops!

What a great bit of fun to laugh at myself for loving my Leicas.

Only Americans (often so literal) might not recognize this immediately as humor. In Europe, this is how we're funny, without a laugh track, and always tongue in cheek.

'Splain me, Loosey!

Dude's videos are totally real. He has mad Jay-Z cash, and isn't caught in our ponderous RFF/DP bubble. (I think the bubble is fun though.)

lol @ shooting @ f/1 will cause an all white picture and f/16 will cause too dark of a picture. Also, even numbers are perfect settings for aperture ahaha.

Love the videos.

i thought it was a pretty good review.

He asked the dealer "what is the best camera?" and bought it. He can afford it, obviously. I know tons of people like that.

Leica makes very good cameras. I was so impressed by the M9-P and Noctilux combination that I went back to the store and bought several more Leica cameras. I think they will make me a better photographer.

One thing that I found disappointing is that the Leica M8 and Leica M9-P cameras and Noctilux and Elmarit lenses do not have self-cleaning sensors. I asked a friend of mine, a fellow dentist, what technique he prefers for cleaning his sensors. He showed me this very useful technique. It is very automatic. I think it will make me a better photographer.

You simply place the camera into an automatic dishwasher, preferably from a manufacturer such as Bosch. (The kind salesman at the photographic store told me that it's best not mix products from Germany with those from other countries.) Then, and this part is very important, especially, if like me, you want to be a better photographer; using the wash cycle selector lever, button or knob on your German dishwasher, very carefully set the cycle to number 2. That seems to work best.

My other disappointment with the additional Leica cameras that I purchased (by the way, they must be very good owing to the fact that they are quite expensive ... even these very old ones for some reason; but I think they will make me a better photographer) is that they do not seem to have sensors that can be cleaned. However, my friend still said they could benefit somehow from a good cleaning, so I've also carefully loaded them into the nice Robert Bosch dishwasher.

Okay, then, now we're ready to clean our sensor. Don't forget: setting no. 2 works best.

The video was posted only a few days ago but the F1 Noctilux had been unavailable for years. It seems unreal he could have walked into a dealer and picked one up with a new latest M9. I just can't believe this is real but I do know such impulsive and wealthy people.

Good point about the f1 Noctilux being unavailable for years, although I have seen a last-generation 35mm Summilux sitting new in a shop only a few weeks ago. Not quite the same thing, but maybe they had the stock lying around...

I truly hope this is a joke video. It has to be. The droll, deadpan delivery is so right. And shame on the salespeople for selling a complete noob a manual focus rangefinder if this is real.
