From the Mamiya 6 user manual, page 28:

"Because most out of focus pictures are the result of camera movement, make sure not to move when pressing the shutter button."

Thank you Mr Mamiya!

LOL! Actually, Mr Mamiya, most blurry pictures are the result of camera movement. Out of focus pictures are the result of ...well, an unfocused camera.

hehe. Japanese camera manuals are somewhat (in)famous about being lost in translation.
What, do you mean that the japanese language doesn't differentiate between "misfocus" and "camera shake"? :)

No. Meaning is altered during translation by a non-native English speaker/writer.

Many manuals seem to be translated by a person who has not much of an idea about the subject he/she translates.
It's just like i'd translate a legal text from hungarian to english. Would sound extremely funny but useless.

And not only the language barrier, but the cultural difference might be also a reason. I recall a motorcycle manual, also japanese, from the seventies i think, that said in english "When people move in you way, blow you horn vigorously and shout Tuut, Tuut". (Might have been slightly different in the words but this was the idea.)
