The R-D1 refurbs are again listed on the Epson site as of this morning, Thursday, Nov 23!!!!! Don't forget the discount code 6ZNAXFP.

It's 12:35 here in Chicago (US CST) and the website is still listing them as "in stock" and accepting orders. BTW does anyone know if these RD1 refurbs are upgraded to RD1s firmware or can that be done simply with a download after the sale?

I think there may be alot of them becoming available. I spoke with Robert White last week and they told me that their Epson rep said that they would be sending a supply of refurbs shortly. Might be the place to look for refurbs if you can't order from the Epson site.

Where were you seeing this, just out of curiosity?

I checked the "Specials" and "Clearance Center" sections of the Epson Store -- no refurb R-D 1s.

I've removed my earlier post saying they're out of stock, since apparently other people are finding them -- I just don't know where they're seeing the listings.

Follow-up: Okay, got it now. You have to go to Epson Store > Clearance Center, and then, in the menu column down the right side, click the "Digital Photography" heading. This takes you to where the R-D 1 refurbs are listed.

I'm happy with the R-D 1 I have and don't really need another -- just thought I should update this info for other people who were having trouble finding the listing. This is a screamin' deal on what is arguably the most usable digital RF out there (admittedly, that's "most" out of a field of two...)

Wow, I just ordered one too! Living in California, I paid tax. Looks like the effective price point for this camera is half of the $3K price.

Looks like I need to put the Tele-Elmar back together.

Thanks for that code! Saved $155 assuming the order actually takes.

I did get an order number and it did show as In Stock when I clicked BUY, so now I have to get my brother to send me that DR 50mm Summicron that's in his closet.
 
Yes, I received a follow-up in the form of an almost instantaneous charge to my credit card from Epson. Otherwise, not a peep. I really somehow doubt that it was shipped 5 minutes after my order was placed on Thanksgiving day! Never seen anything quite like that from a major seller/manufacturer.

I have an order number and they got the money. ordered two day, so I think that means Monday if everything happens perfectly.I have ordered from this site before (a printer), the transaction was smooth, I then returned it and my refund was on same day they received it.:eek:

Nope nothing from Epson, just the order number when I placed the order.

I think I'll see if the charge hit my card. Yup, it shows as pending.

Hopefully it'll go through.
 
Wow! The number of R-D1 owners here on RFF is going thru the roof! :p
 
The release of the M8 caused the R-D1 sales to soar, must be the first time that having a competitor actually increases your sales.
