Rally to Restore Sanity / Keep Fear Alive

Other than people coming to this rally to have fun (nothing wrong with that) it looks like an utter waste of time. While this country sinks lower and lower in debt, wasting and wasting money on itself while the guys in real power tell us to vote Demo one year and Republo the next. And the wheel just keeps spinning.
(Wow I am truly starting to scare myself, must be the special day....Boo)

Christine O'Donnell was a popular target of derision.

I understand the rally to "restore sanity" part, but can anyone explain the "keep fear alive" part?

I read that it was supposed to be a light hearted and fun rally. About what? I don't know. I wonder if any of those unemployed California people like I saw on 60 minutes were there. You know the ones who are past their 99 weeks of unemployment checks, who have spent their 401ks, life savings , kids college savings, and are now 3 months from foreclosure, who are taking parttime jobs at Target because there is nothing else available?

They can remind us all to keep calm, remain sane. They were certainly doing it, on camera anyway,

Got it. Thanks.

Events like this are fun to cover photographically.
No one minds a camera. It is a "happening".

A reference to a violent outburst at a Rand Paul campaign appearance where one of Paul's campaign volunteers "stepped" on a MoveOn activist's head and shoulders. A rather disquieting event to be sure and one that speaks of the anger of some of the electorate as it spills into both threats of and actual violence. Clearly, these are charged times we live in.

For many in the crowd, the agenda truly seemed to be about turning the public discourse to a debate about issues and not one about fear-mongering and whether the President has a valid US birth certificate.

As the old adage goes, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease".
Who would have thought that common sense would need to be promoted to get some of that grease.

Nice to see so many show up for this and have some fun.
Thanks for the post Rob.
