On January 1, 2006 I owned one rangefinder -- the M3 that was my dad's. I had never been into photography but with a camera like this it was hard to stay that way.

A couple of months later I spotted a good deal on a second that seemed worth adding to the family, and ended up with a nice Canonet GIII QL17.

The newest rangefinder is a black Olympus 35 SP that I couldn't say no to. The identity of my supplier will remain withheld to protect the innocent.

I don't have a wife to hide the cameras from, and therefore no reason to feel guilty about this, right?

Nice gear, Melanie. You are well on you way toward GAS addiction!

However, I think you misunderstand the masculine side of the GAS discourse. Our emotional response is not founded in "guilt" toward our better halves. Rather it is rooted in out and out "fear" of the consequences! 😀

At what point in your sequence was the Rolleiflex 2.8F acquired? Do NOT conceal acquisitions from us! We are here to enable you and would never let you admit you have too many cameras.

As of tomorrow when I receive my Bessa R, however, I will have too many cameras. 🙁

Nice collection of gear! Whatever you do, though, stay away from the FSU stuff! Once you go there, there's no turning back!

Gee, I can't see why anyone would need to worry about dabbling in a rangefinder from the FSU. You make it sound like they'll wind up with four of them and drawer full of lenses. How could that happen?

By the way, that is a nice trio at the top of the page.

I appreciate cameras being used instead of sitting in boxes 🙂

Melanie,

with the;
- Summicron 50/2 on your M3,
- Canon 40/1.7 on the Canonet QL,
- Planar 80/2.8 on the Rolleiflex 2.8F, and
- G.Zuiko 42/1.7 on the Oly 35SP

you potentially have the four most famous and best near-normal lenses there are.

Congrats. (Nice shots of them as well!)

It's too late for me to tell you, "For God's sake, stop now!" You're already a goner. 🙂 And Rich is not your friend for having done this to you. 😀 Rich you have corrupted an innocent! 😛

Isn't it funny - or weird - how one often start out with one RF camera and then suddenly you look around and you either HAVE 20 of them..or you've gone through 20...and it just...happened...

Melanie,

I think you need to add only two more 35mm to your kit. A Contax IIa or IIIa with 50mm f1.5 Sonnar (and a Zeiss Biogon 21mm f4.5) and a Canon P with a 50mm Canon f1.8.

Well, 3 more, a Rollei 35S with the 40mm f2.8 Sonnar.

The Rolleiflex 2.8F was also my father's. He had good taste and took good care of his stuff. Here are my father's two cameras together:
