I recently took my Bessa R2A with 50/2 and 35/2.5 on a backpacking trip in Colorado and it worked great. The most important camera accessory for landscape shooting is a tripod, and with a 35mm RF, you can use a much smaller tripod than most any other camera (digi P&S aside). I took a 1.9 lb SLIK tripod and it worked great. I would not have carried a tripod big enough for an SLR...it's just too heavy. Here is a link to my flickr set from that trip: http://www.flickr.com/photos/photophore/sets/72157602213074978/
Now, if I was shooting landscapes in more accessible areas, I'd still prefer to use an SLR (if I had some decent lenses) or best of all, a view camera.
