"It's a joke. Not the kind you laugh at. Just a joke."
Those are almost always the BEST jokes.

tolerance n. The capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.
You have a dictionary! Cool, I'm saving up to buy one of those.
Here's the counterpart for your tolerance: Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.

Offended feelings are not noses. Words are not fists.
Define your 'right' to not be offended.

Let's keep the comments and views of each other off the forum and keep to the subject in hand.

I'll explain the analogy: The "noses" are the locations poisoned by waste from the Western world; the "fists" are the garbage we send them.

Why does every thread that does not deal with a 'how to" subject have to degenegrate to this level of mutual mud slinging? Is this a sign of the (political) times now? What does PC have to do with airing one's views about noobs and snobs approach to gear? Frankly this is getting tiring.

I think your answer is in the word "political" or politics.

Here's the hot tip you clowns: You don't need a pro camera. Your money would be better spent on a shrink if you really need one to bolster your fragile little egos.
Or maybe they need to answer a few of those emails about penis enlargement ...

What it does is list those rights, which presumably predate the USA (meaning we had them from our Creator, not by right of Kings, potentates, or Presidents), upon which the federal government is forbidden to infringe.
And then, the next day, they started making laws which infringe on most of them.

One of my friends is always much amused by these. She says that she wonders what they know about her that she doesn't know herself...

Isn't there something about that in the constitution?
The right to happiness or something?
The writers of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were really smart. The right is to "the pursuit of happiness". They understand you cannot guarantee the outcome, only that government should allow you to pursue it...

It does happen. But redress is usually possible. Not always, but usually. One I'm watching at the moment is Heller v District of Columbia.

And although I am a huge proponent of the US system of governance and jurisprudence, I was struck by this:

Wait till Bush puts "Executive Order #13422" into action.
I hope you do not presume I am a fan of President Bush. I am not.
I am not in favor of Executive Orders at all. They are essentially rule-by-fiat, which circumvents the entire concept of separation of powers AND the right to representation. The E.O. was invented in a time of world war (when we were saving the rest of the world's bacon, you're welcome) and unfortunately never taken away again. Each president in turn has abused his authority in this manner, usually by declaring an 'emergency' that authorizes them to issue the E.O.
And for the record, Clinton issued E.O. #12612, which was the biggest attempted power-grab by the US federal government in history. The outcry was great enough that he had to rescind it.
No party has clean hands on this issue.

Nor any country, we are all seeing our "rights" eroded from left and right. (see recent threads on violation of rights in the UK).
I know, I know. This is a very sad thing, for any country. I am against it, and in that, I am unanimous!
