Reasonable Leica?

If you don't need a meter, get an M2.
But as several folks have said, you can't really go wrong with any of the Ms.
 
+1 on an M2 w/ CV 35/2.5 and Canon 50/1.8 (and some other lenses too :)). I don't have anything to add to the comments above on this combination and the excellence of those lenses.

I got my M2 from KEH, "bargain" grade, for $525, about three years ago. I was surprised at how good the condition was when it arrived. It didn't need a CLA, although I did have it CLA'd last year when I had the covering replaced. It's a joy to use.

I was smiling when I saw that guess put out to you.

It never ceased to amaze me that some still hold on to the myth of the "ultimate" classic M body.

And assume anyone who prefer the more "pedestrian" M4-P as inexperienced.
