Recent Film Shoot at Vizcaya & Scans

Took some outdoor photos on my medium format cameras (using Ektar 100) and Leica M (Fuji Reala). I also shot that day using my Sony 5N under the the same exact shooting conditions and I have to say that compared to the scans I got back on my film shots, the Sony beat them all. For some reason the scans I get back all have too much contrast. The only thing I can do to these scans is to process them in Lightroom with some grunge effects, because as straight photos, they lack.

Very nice textures, excellent use of the larger negative. I wish my Ektar scans came out looking half as nice.

Did you do the scans themselves or get them done ? If you got them done, you may need to ask them to turn off sharpening and enhancement in the future so that you can do these things yourself in a more subtle fashion ...

I had the scans done. That's why I'm trying to figure out if there's anything I can do in the future to lower the contrast.

The medium format development and scan I had done at a local shop and the 35mm dev & scan I had done at my local Costco. The Costco scans are contrasty and have a slight magenta tint. And the medium format scans are also too contrasty.

The only other thing I can think to try is to shoot with a low contrast film. What is a good low contrast color film?
