nice Vespa Keith !
I have a lux 35 aspherical, but if I could do it again I 'd buy a cron for the smaller size.

I'd go for the Zeiss 35/2 or the CV 35/1.4. The Zeiss is a great lens and super dependable. Whatever you throw at it, it's going to handle. Flare, etc. Will give you a nice even performance over the whole frame.
The CV is smaller, cheaper, and faster. Looks to be a great lens, but has some other characteristics that may or may not bother you. More distortion (I think? barrel?), flares more, and some don't like the bokeh wide open. But you most likely won't have any pictures ruined by any of those characteristics.

The tiny 35 Canon f/2 Black is pretty sweet ~$400. Leica type III would challenge $600. Either would make for a nice compact rig.
