I've read a couple of posts that mention that you can see a red light from the front of a Bessa (I assume it's something to do with the display in the VF) - how bad is it in practice?
I can from the front of my R. It's just the meter that stays on for a couple of seconds after exposure, the LEDs shine through the frosted glass window a little bit. It's not a problem and doesn't disturb anybody.
Quite bright on the Bessa-R. I was using it for an astrophotography project recently and I had to remove the batteries as I could not see stars in the viewfinder due to the red light. For ordinary photography though, the LED's on the Bessa are wonderful -- they give a very affirmative indication of proper exposure.
