Please remember to keep all discussions at the level of the infantile.

Agree Nick. That's what I thought the "Off Topic" subforum was for....there was no rudeness or foul language involved at all.....the mod just didn't like the topic.
Maybe this subforum should be called "Off Topic Subject to Arbitrary Censorship".

Ditto.

Strange. I assume the mod did not realize the thread was in the OT forum.

It'd be nice to get some clarification from Jorge, who once said that anything goes in the off topic forum except vulgarity. Maybe his rule has changed. It's his sandbox.

Uncle Augusto??

Maybe we should start a "What do you think of Generalisimo Francisco Franco" thread 😀

At last check... back in the 70's.. he was still dead... (old SNL bit).

if i remember correctly, jorge does not like threads about politics or religion. that might be the answer.

and if you read that thread it sure looked like it was ready to take a dive into unpleasant territory.

i imagine jorge will be along to make things clear.

I think thet some topics shouldnt be discusssed here.
Some topics like politcs, religion, personal beleives, etc, are susceptible to create severe divergences between members and create "bad ambience".
I think that the purpose of OT furum is something more benign like whats the better way to cook turkey on christmas, or the best place on earth to make dives....
I agree with the thread beeing closed. There are other places to discuss that topics on the net.
Just my 2 cents.

I thought that this being an international forum that I would like to read some other views on Pinochet. I value the opinions of the people who post here a lot more than those you'd hear on hate (aka talk) radio. But it's Jorge's call.

Any and every disussion with political content ends up being very contentious. There are just too many strongly held and emotionaly charged opinions out there.
I nearly jumped in on that thread, but stopped myself because I feared I would help escalate it to that contentious state.

Pedro, turkey discussions are absolutely out of bounds in order not to offend our vegetarian and animal rights movement members.

J'accuse, birdist!
