In response to a recent thread on using a Canon lens on a Leica CL, I photographed a few lenses together. This should give some idea of the relative sizes.
The "winner" for small is the Canon 50/1.5. Its no bigger than my Collapsible Summicron in the Collapsed position.
But here they are;
Canon f1.5 and the F1.8 Serenar

Yes, they are. I could add five Canon 35mm lenses to the size comparisons.

The Canon chrome 35/2.8 is hard to beat for size in 35mm lenses.

Wide-angle lenses for RF's tend to be small: no need for a retro-focus design.
I want one of those 35/1.5's!

Could you do that, maybe all five of them side by side with a shot from the side and one from the front?raid said:Yes, they are. I could add five Canon 35mm lenses to the size comparisons.

I've thought that too. I'd like to see a picture comparison.

It is way smaller (not smaller than th 40/1.4 though). I wish I had one. From Raid's comparison:
Ultron in the front, Canon North North East.
Roland.

What's that old saying about "don't let the grass grow under your lenses"...?

I stood on a chair to take this photo of the lenses placed on a glass top table. I like the effect.

Here are additional "portraits"of these fine Canon 35mm lenses.
Aren't they beauties!
I have been using the 35/1.8 for a few years and I love it. I recently added the vintage 35mm/2.8.It is a sharp lens and it looks awesome on a vintage camera.
