Hi all

So I got mtself a deal on a nice Canon 35mm f/1.5.

I tried to relube it myself and the results are not acceptable, way too tight.

I use a lithium automotive grease that I have found to be perfect for 2 or three 50mm lenses.

I used the same grease on my 35mm f/1.8 and the results are ok although on the tight side.

I think the same grease that is just great for the simple helicoid 50mm is just too much for the double helicoid of a 35mm.

Please your opinions on that conclusion and of course....

What grease should I use ?

Thanks! :)

Michael

I've had good results with synthetic grease made for bicycle wheel bearings and overhead garage door grease. Both maintain their viscosity at all temperatures. And there's always the expensive Micro Tools stuff.
