Repair Finder Foot

Not the best venue but since it relates to a lens here goes.

Any ideas on how to fix the foot on this finder? Where to get a replacement metal foot? How to attach it, etc. Thanks for any ideas.

What a big finder!
Get a flash foot, preferrably metal and glue it on with epoxy glue, or any strong glue.
And try to get it properly aligned?
If you would need it with parallax alignment, it gets more difficult. You would need a replacement foot from a donor finder. Or make it yourself.

Glue won't hold it. Get it TIG welded (no heat involved).

I was thinking about that 2 part putty that you knead (automotive) You can actually tap it with threads when it hardens so it is pretty strong. Getting the right foot will be the real problem because if it is too high the parralax will be way off. This finder is from a whole set on *bay that looks really nice except for this problem. Mabye not worth the trouble.

Yeah, I saw that ad a couple of times. My recommendation is to pick up another finder somewhere, either by itself or as part of a set with a beater lens, and just use the new finder. Alternatively, you could buy one of the CV finders which are very nice. The lens in that set is a keeper so it could still be worth your while to go to all this trouble if you don't pay too much for this kit. Check Meleica's site for prices, in case you haven't already.
