Hi Folks,
I've got a beautiful Minolta Autocord except for a slightly sticky shutter when first picked up. Any idea where I could have this fixed? Thanks.....John.

I agree with the recommendation of Karl -- he's worked on my three Autocords and done a fine job. Very reasonable price too.

Ambitious, but rubbish
OK, I realize this is a very generalized question, but how much can you expect to spend? My Autocord doesn't focus anymore - sounds like an expensive problem to me. the lever just moves freely.

Sorry, but you almost certainly have a broken focusing lever. This is a very common problem with Autocords. Unless you can find a junked camera with a donor part, it usually isn't repairable (well, you can have another part made, but it will cost more than the camera is worth). It isn't very likely that you will find a donor either, since the lever is the part that nearly always will be broken on a junked Autocord. This is what happens when the grease in the focusing helicoid hardens and someone tries to force the thing to focus anyway. A whole lot of Autocords get made into permanent paperweights like that. If whoever broke it had stopped when it first got stiff, and had it CLAd, it would have fixed the problem. Too late now.
