Rewind crank - anybody tried?

Hi All,

Has anyone ever used one of these cheap rewind cranks? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Film-rewind-crank-for-Leica-camera-M2-M3-MP-/171761024387

Was thinking of getting one for my M2, but I don't want to if they're of really bad quality. Hard to tell from the photos.

I bought one. It's not bad. The only trouble is that the piece is like a C-shape spring, so when you attach it, it open slightly. I don't use it so far, but I'll give it a try.
Their advantage is that they work with all cameras and are not dependent on the exact size of the knob.
I would rather try the brass/Magnum/QC choice, but they are more expensive.

I think I might stick with it as it is for now, or keep an eye on ebay for a proper leica one (I'm not going to buy a new one for a million pounds!)

I have a couple of these, Leica made one with a spring loaded knob, nice but your fingers keep slipping off. There was also a "wanna be" - looking like the Leica one but with a fixed knob - fingers still slip off!
The best one, bar none, is Cameraquests "Magnum" crank. Not cheap, but worth every penny. It gives you a solid grip a positive feel. No more slip-ups. It is a one-time outlay and you will thank yourself for getting it after having rewound 1/2 dozen films in a short time.

I have a Leica crank like the one in ebay and I used it a little on my MP but it just didn't work so well like Tom said. It was too short and hard to hold on to. I took it off and it's in it's box on a shelf in my camera closet. - jim

Ive only ever used the one I made for myself in any extent.

I used a bit of bicycle tube and a small set screw to attach it without damaging my rewind knob.
I also made my handle/lever considerably larger than what I could find online, and for the most part, it worked very well. I no longer have an M so it just sits. You might convince me to get off of it?
