Rf Alignment

So I decided to try my hand at aligning the RF for one of my non working GTN'S following what others have said. im pretty sure I lined it up ok, I removed the piece of metal from the hotshoe and turned the screw inside to align it. I took it outside and looked at the moon and aligned it with that. Then i got to thinking will it knock of the vertical alignment? when i was looking at it inside it didnt seem off or anything everything seemed to line up ok...

so my question is would it affect anything by turning the screw and making the infinity alignment?

Can't answer your question, sorry, but...would you care to share with us the exact way you got access to that adjustment screw? I've searched around on RFF and found out that one could remove part of the hot/cold shoe, but not any specifics. That is, what side to pry on, with what kind of tool, and in what direction to slide which piece?

I have but one GSN and don't want to break it by doing something stupid.

so here are the steps i took for the infinity alignment, remember im new at this, the pics are sucky but hey what you going to do? i have yet to try it on my working GTN cause im kinda scared i might throw something else off...
so this is the junky one i have...

i made it step by step and i took pictures of different angles of the little piece of metal that you take out to give a better idea of how it sticks to the hotshoe.
when i was removing the metal plate i was thinking how is this sticking to the hotshoe then i got it out and i realized it was those tabs...

and in the last 2 pics i showed the hole where you stick the little screwdriver...
and in the last pic i drew what it looked like in the camera i couldnt get enough light in there to show the actual screw but i hope the little drawing helped...

anyways if anyone else can help answer questions feel free to say something...

i hope someone can elaborate on this to tell if it does throw anything else of...

Ah...excellent. Thanks so much! I haven't tried this myself since my GSN's focus happens to be aligned, but wanted this procedure to get recorded on the net for anyone else to use. Having looked at your pics of the metal part, it appears that if one also lifted up on that front edge of it (shove a couple of toothpicks in from the sides) before pushing back with a screwdriver, it'd just slide right off without binding.
