RF BOOK-Project

I will stay on the safe side by pulling back. Australian law doesn't prohibit taking and displaying photos of recognisable people when they are in the society i.e. street and buildings where public is invited but when there's money involved, even if I get nothing, the condition may change.

Graksi can have the priviledge to take my spot. I'll just contribute to the book by providing Bessa R2 photo for the back cover. 🙂

Haha, digital ox - you are now 'backup #3'. I think that's all we need for now in terms of backups 🙂

In terms of Contax G...as far as I know it's a rangefinder...am I wrong? (I've never used one).

Kris are you sure? The ruling is still out on weather model releases would be required for this kind of book or not. Sure??

I'm positive. Now Graksi just have to choose his Escape photo for the book to make me totally happy giving up my spot.

Hehe, I just don't want to disappoint anyone if something happens. I hate it when people leave projects without warning. 🙂

Kris is OUT

🙁

We are down to 24 again.
Just contacted Graksi who is the 1st Backup.

Rich, I've always enjoyed Reflections. Coming Out is wonderful, though I think the title could be a bit different. Even when no model release is neede the subjects might take offence being associated with the title. You never know what strings you might have tickled, right? 🙂

Questions
1. are the 25 people who are submitting photos - is anyone putting in a colour photo? Maybe that should determine the B&W vs colour issue?

2. Does the Bessa L and 15mm count?

RML, I'm a sucker for release forms...I carry them with me and had even those three guys signing 🙂

You'd be surprised how many release forms I end up with for photos that are complete crap though... 🙂

Pherdinand, it's really mixed.

My standard question is simply:
"Great photo! If it turns out well would you want a copy?"
I then ask them to write their email address down..and at that time I also bring up the model release question.

Sneaky?
Well it works and i DO send them a softcopy if it turns out really well!

I always have the paper and pen out and ready when asking.

I'd say percentage wise I get the following responses;

70% sign.
Very few ask questions. It's like either they know or act as if they know.

15% ignore me and walk past without signing.

15% ask questions and then say no.

🙂

Peter, I like whale fluke a lot!

Thanks, RML. It's a pretty weird picture and you have to be thinking - how did that whale get so close to the palm trees? Of course it's not a real whale it's part of a sculpture in front of a financial services company on Pitts Bay Road in Hamilton. The pic is the view you see over a wall from the road.

I am submitting 2 color photos. That was discussed very early on. There is so much to read I have no idea where it was though.

I think the Bessa L counts, and I love wide angle shots.

Thanks Rover - I must have missed the colour comments!

I like wides too. I've got 10 rolls to process this weekend of the Leica and bessa 35/1.7 and 15/4.5 combinations. We shall see what comes from that!

A statue?! Really?! I wouldn't have guessed that!

Anyway, I really like it. 🙂
