RF BOOK-Project

I dont know Remy...I now have about 10 non-RFF member that want to buy it when it's available and others have 10-15 in addition to that....and christmas IS coming up...... ;)

We should have a poll hahaha...to guess how many books will be sold by end-year :)

My guess at this point is....71 :)

what happens if one of the 25 drops out of the rff forum world?

joe

We'll hunt him/her down and ki.. Oh, I mean....

Dropping out of the RFF world should have no impact on 1 and 2 above. #3 and #4 options we will have to vote on.

As much as I like our market economy I would be quite happy with this project generate NO profit as it would be a pain in the ass to manage.

The other option for profit is that we at one point simply transfer the paypal account to Jorge - if he wants it.

I'll gladly contribute to the ISBN, if we're doing something, let's do it well :) No need for a ROI, we're sharing our passion with the world, ladies and gentlemen...

And as Rich said, I'd prefer not to introduce money in this, also, even if it's a small difference, $13 makes it a '$10' book, while $17 makes it a $20 one...

A while ago I got an outstanding small book with 100+ Doisneau photographs and biography for 6 Euro (~$7-8), it was a smaller format but very well made and definitely the very low price made it for me.

Also, I'm sure I'll be able to get a some buyers, probably more than two

if we were to have an 'excess' of profit we could have a free raffle (amongst the 25) of a gift certificate to an online photo retailer.

or not...

Richard, correct me if I am wrong, what you are saying is that we can change the price of the book at some time in the future if we choose. So, by meeting #1 and #2 we will be even, and then then "close" the financial part of our publication effort. Or, at some time in the future we can "close" the money part and therefore have a ceiling on how much $ we will all be fighting (just joking :)) over.

Rover, I have the exact question out to LuLu :)

I want to make sure that we have an option to 'cut off' the mark-up/royalty at a given point if we so chose.

(I asked how that will effect pricing as stated on Amazon, etc, etc).

UPDATE:

mourges, you are OUT (sorry!)

AndColor - you are IN.

(DigitalOx you are now first back-up).

UPDATE:

Biber had to give up his spot on the book, so Biber is OUT.

Digitalox is next back-up and after confirming with him today he is IN.

Count me in. This is exciting. I'd like to contribute somehow, and my wife is a proofreader so if you need her help, let me know.

How about a section "Close-Up Photography and the Rangefinder"

Next "picther" (shooter) in the game - sounds like World Series games - LOL.

Hi guys!

I want to participe in this project, as always I hope don't arrive too late. I'm very keen on the idea.

Say me something.

Jordi, that's a wonderful shot!
However, I'm afraid you have to get on the waiting list first :(
All the posts are taken, and only if someone drops out (Richard, what's the update on this?) you will move up on the waiting list.
Depending on the results, we can certainly hope for the RFF book No. 2....

just wondering....

just wondering....

...does anyone have an update on the book?

there has been little talk of it lately.

last i recall there was a delay with a few members getting their stuff to richard.
has everyone caught up yet?

i have not seen rich around these parts lately and he has not answered my emails, i hope all is well with him.
has anyone heard from or about rich? is he ok?

any info greatly appreciated.

joe

joe, I mailed rich too a couple of weeks ago and didn't get any answer either, I've seen rich here in the forum last week I think. Regarding the book I have no update either and haven't seen any advance in the photonet book site so I can't help. All we hope that rich be ok..

I tried to contact him and send my regards to his health problem but so far I have yet to hear from him.

I haven't heard back from Rich either.

I've completed the first 20 photographers on the RFFBook site. The photos and descriptions are typeset and in place, ready to go.

So there are 5 people who haven't submitted yet? There was a thread addressed to Richard a couple of weeks ago where people suggested setting a deadline then going to the backups. Richard must have missed the thread but maybe it is time to set a cutoff and move on. The problem is that we can't really do that without Richard and if he's sick... :(

I have been away for some time as y'all may know. Can anyone give me an update about the project? I'm eager to see something in print by now. :)
