You should check the lens minimal focusing distance of whatever camera you select. It could be 0.9 m or 0.7 m. Olympus 35 SP has 0.9 m and 42 mm lens. You can't get very close. Plus, those little camera (at least one I have) has a limited rangefinder capability to the point that my close-range photos were back focused. In my research of a problem, I have discovered that those rangefinders are calibrated for infinity and it is simply impossible to get all ranges in focus. Using smaller aperture can compensate for it. But be aware. Leica has a better rangefinder than anything else, but that's a different league. She like doing closeups sometimes - not necessarily macro but close enough where parallax would be a problem. She has a fuji polaroid and it took a bit of explanation of why the flower was not in the print. My Fuji GL690 compensates as you focus.
