I may be in Paris at that time, a chunnel run to meet all of you might be in order! Hopefully you wouldn't mind a California guy crashing the party 🙂

Sounds good. I can not promise anything (many changes going on), though I hope I will be able to come.

But somebody should past a link to street photography rules & law in UK such that half of the group does not get invited to a police station after first day 😉

It is extremely unlikely that you will have problems with street photography in London. I've only had two problems there - one was when I accidently took a photo of a working girl and the other was of a couple who were not meant to be a couple - and both of these problems could have happened anywhere in the world.

I walk about London and see tourists snapping everything and everyone and street photographers shooting everything from compact digitals through RFs to LF.
 
I'm in depending on dates but should be ok if we can agree a date fairly quickly. That way I can organise some cover if I have a job that weekend.

Dave, I'm just up the road from you in Ipswich and lurk in Clacton from time to time for those mini Las Vegas shots just off the sea front and to poorly imitate those classic Tony Ray-Jones shots 😀

I'm happy to fit in with what everyone else wants to do but would it be of more interest to both locals and visitors to see "everyday" London rather than a walking tourbus of the main Thames based sites? Nico and the other Florence based RFF'ers did a great job of showing us a little more of their city than the expected. Just putting it out there!
 
Oh and I'll 100% back Kully's opinion on shooting in London. Small towns are tougher than the big cities and even then it's rarely the police that are an issue but the council employed 'street rangers'...and it takes very little to point out you know your rights
 
since it isn't the cheapest city in the world, maybe we can start putting together a list of cheap (or free, even) places to stay for the non-locals?
I(/we) for one will probably stay in Oxford at a friend's if I cannot find something that is cheaper (and closer) than the train in and out of London.

I completly agree on the 'everyday' bit - the Thames route, Spitalfields &c. are nice but... perhaps they are becoming the Buckingham Palace for photographers (as seen by the hordes of street photographers at Brick Lane of a Sunday).

Good idea, al1966 kindly offered a bed and I have a spare room and a sofa-bed in the lounge, although someone has first refusal on the room.
 
Here are a few ideas that are maybe a bit less typical:

If you want to show people a different side of London, take the DLR to Pontoon Dock for a view of the docklands, Millennium Mills, and walk through the Woolwich foot tunnel and take the ferry back, or have a brief look at Woolwich or Greenwich.

The Monument to the Great Fire of London is now open again tucked away just off the north side of London Bridge (the bridge, not the station), not at all busy, and offers great views for the same price as a coffee. I went with some friends a few days ago, it brought back memories of climbing a lighthouse.

The Hunterian Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons has a large selection of diseased and formerly-healthy body parts in jars.
