RFF forum search mechanism on Android

Is there a switch that makes the search mechanism wotrk on an Android tablet? Everytime I go to use it it "disappears"; I can bring up the search dialogue, but it then disappears immediately.

try changing browsers.
Firefox usually works well

forum search is flawed and usually "finds" something remotely related to the search term.

Google "site:rangefinderforum.com term" works also in Android Chrome.
