New York RFF Hits NYC June 28

I've lost my accent too. Americans tell me I sound English and to my family over on the other side of the pond I sound American. A mid-Atlantic accent I think its called in England. My original accent comes back when I shout also.

Wish I could go to NYC... :( But when you have to work, you have to work (I'm a consultant and therefore seriously not in control of my life.).

peter,

i recall a telephone conversation with my sister, happened years ago, in the middle of the conversation she abruptly announced to me that i 'sounded canadian'.
said with great disdain by the way.

too funny.
joe

I know about the disdain... :( If I had an English wife and English kids well I'd sound English of course. But I have an American wife and American kids so some of that rubs off. I don't live in a bloody cocoon FGS!

Heh. Being a consultant is why I am able to make NYC -- I'm in NY 3 days/week on business travel these days, so I can make the gathering with just a half day of vacation (and no additional travel time).

But I agree with you on the "not in control of my life" part...

Scott

And if you are your own boss you shouldn't have a hard time getting appoval for time off. I ok'd my day off months ago.

If you can get down to Hartford or near there I will get you to NYC Peter.

For all of us who wish we could join you, would you please keep us informed, and please take some digi-snaps of the mottly crew to post here. It would be nice to be able to put some faces to the names we read here. I can envision one shot, taken from a low angle of the group of you downtown NYC staring up at the tall buildings, each of you staring off in different direction. Kind of like "babes in the jungle."

Hi Joe

as a 'Canadian' I'll say 'bon voyage', NYC is a great place. I'm sure you've been there before so you will have lots to shoot or re-shoot I'm sure.

cheers, Jan

Gentleman, looks like I'll be out of town for work, of all days, the day that you all will be here. I can't refuse the job. Gotta eat and pay for my upcoming wedding in September.

Best regards to you all. Have a safe and healthy trip here. Shoot your hearts out and have some pastrami for me!

Could someone PM me a cell phone number just in case something changes, that I may catch up with you all somewhere?

Keith

I will send you mine right now.

Being too far away to join in the fun... i want to wish all the NYC bound a wonderful time with safe trips for all and look forward to seeing some pics of the group 'chowing down..." on that authentic New York cuisine!

Have not been able to post today in two tries. One this afternoon when I was called away before I could send and just now when the post failed to go through. To make it short, I have suddenly come down with severe laryngitis, much to the delight of my neighbors and today I sampled the pastrami at Eisenberg's. Will report tomorrow and hope to meet you on Tuesday when you will be spared the historical and architectural lectures due to my sudden lack of voice.

no voice? not a good thing.
did i mention i used to be a sign language interpreter?
looking forward to this historic face to face.

So, is everyone set with phone numbers? I sent a message out last week sharing those that we have. I have shared my number with a couple other folks who may be able to join us, or meet us during the day somewhere. I just realized that there is just one more day to wait.

Expect to see you tomorrow at GCC. Weather report is not too good. My voice is only slightly improved; doctor put me on an antibiotic and a steroid.
