I actually have a lever on my M2 now (no I don't use that meter, it just looked vintage. :D ):

it's just quicker than the -certainly good looking- naked rewind button.

here's the s/n for the M4 and M2

So, you like more the lever rewind... By saying "quicker", you mean that you turned lever, and don't have to hold it that way, and in case with button you must hold it pressed?..

Dear Photographers, you're walcome to show us your cameras ID...;)

aaaah you're talking about the button rewind, I thought you meant rewind crank vs rewind knob. my bad. no the button rewind is still a button rewind and I've never had a problem with it, no need to change that ;)
sorry.

So, what do you prefer better button or lever?..

Glad to know that!.. Must have been RELEAVE...

I did not even think of the button or lever rewind, I was looking at the actual crank added to the rewind knob on top. I've been looking for one for my M3 but only found one still made in Japan (I think). Haven't purchased it yet. I was hoping for a local-ish manufacturer/seller for one.

black M6 classic #2432038 (outfitted with black Leica dot)
black M8 #3111389 (griptac recovered)

Hey Renzsu, that's a first M8 on the list!..

I also prefer black dot... But without it even better...:D

I will wait for photos of cameras SNs...

Oh man, I'm as happy as a little kid who got his fav bike fixed... Hey Renzsu, how complicated is to remove the dot and install a new one ? I would kill to make a panda of my Silver M7

I'm glad to read that!.. I think I understand you... ;)

Can those dots be put on older models like the M3? I know I'd have to leave the screw off the M3, but is there just a hole under the black/red dot that it's covering up??

Installing a black dot isn't something I've done before.. the M6 already had one when I got it. However, I've just ordered another black dot for the M8, so I'll be able to report on that soon I hope!
About a photo of the serial numbers, I'm afraid I can't really help you there, because there's no way my iPhone will be able to pick up that much detail :(
