Indeed I did get a midair shot. Although Turkey Vultures do tend to spend most of their time in midair.

Stupid ridiculous crop. Who says you can't use 28mm for birds?:

My GRDIII arrived today and I couldn't be happier. Functionally, the only difference between it and the GRDIV I used to own is that it focuses a bit slower but it's still pretty darn quick in its own right. The images are the same.
Here's a couple jpegs I just shot. I just added sharpening and contrast in camera.

Just saw this:

We'll see next week but $800 sounds like a pretty good deal.
In the meantime:

I've never owned a Ricoh. In fact, I was beginning to wonder if the Pentax deal was the end of Ricoh cameras. Would it be safe to assume that this will be a Sony PDAF sensor without AA Filter, no viewfinder, but quite pocketable. Will this be both a replacement for the X100s and a small camera such as the LX-7? Should I be packing my X100s... which I just might do anyway.

My understanding is that the new GR uses the same sensor as the Pentax K-5. I dunno if Sony makes Pentax's sensors or not as I'm not that well informed about Pentax.I've never owned a Ricoh. Thanks for joining in with such fine shots, chickentender. Though I really would prefer to call you by a less fastfoodified name....

Very sly reflections in the first, and turning the tables on the shooters. Were you part of the group shot or just sneaking over that guy's shoulder and off?
