Last week I put in a bid at an eBay auction and won a GR-D V1 for EUR 21.00.
I was thinking of flipping it for a profit but I'm not so sure now...

I've always wanted an original GRD... Don't need one, but would be fun for a super-low price.
Enjoy.

Don't do this - keep the camera, it's a gem!
I had absolutely no clue, that there is a GRD thread on RFF !!!
I am a long time fan of this fantastic camera, but only a few days ago has been revisited my buried GRD III after long, long time no use.
Today I had my first morning stroll with the GRDIII.
I use it with VF-2, set up, to closely fit me, used to shooting RF cameras.

James, thanks ;-)
It sometimes takes a break from a piece of gear, to reignite some love.
When I had the GRD II + III new, I didn't really understand 28mm, but just loved, how Ricoh made these small digitals so good.
Shooting rangefinder cameras, slowly going wider and wider over the years brought me closer to the GRD again with it's 28mm lens - some ways are strange
@gfevan:
This is a great series, playing with the topic!
I really like the second shot!

... and... it died.
While my wife had it with her on vacation. After taking about 10 shots with it.
Today when she got home and I could have a look I could hear rattling noises inside and the lens would not budge, being stuck halfway.
I tried surgery on it but since I'm not all that technical / medical, the patient quickly passed the point of no return and was laid off in the waste bin.
I won't be pursuing one at the time, no funds for that. But I sure will pick one up again in the future

After using the GRD IV for a few months I just can't seem to handle it as well as I had hoped. It's a great camera but it doesn't blow me away like the X-Pro1 with the 18/2. I do enjoy the size, though.

Really nice Menos. I still think this is the thread with the best work on RFF, all taken with a 28mm point and shoot!
