I believe these models take hoods/filters.
Are they proprietary? I searched ebay and couldn't find them so i figured that they are probably expensive if found. Is there a way around this? Like, what is the filter thread or does anyone else make replicas?
Thanks.

The filter thread is 30.5mm. Im pretty certain this is similar to a few other cameras Contax T2? I bought an adaptor from MAP camera in japan or you can buy them here http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=438 i use an old yashica Y1 yellow filter in 30.5mm i found for $10 with it.

$50, ouch. Not the end of the world as many Leica products are incredibly overpriced. This is something I may pay. Yeah, 30.5mm filters aren't that hard to find or expensive. Rollei 35s takes those filters and probably some other P&S's and you can buy b+w ones, new, for like $30 I think.

It pays to watch the ads on eBay. I've seen a few filter rings attached to the filter, without any notification of it, in the advertisement.

The thread is 30.5mm if I remember correctly but it's a different thread to the standard 30.5mm thread that you'll find on European filters etc. You need an adapter to match a standard filter to the camera. They used to be quite expensive but as kzphoto says, sometimes you buy a filter and the adapter seems to be thrown in. I have two as a result of this. If I can find them I'll PM you, as I need only one.

Bringing this old thread back to life, what is the latest on these Ricoh Filter Rings?
Japanexposures is out and it seems noone currently sells this.
I tried Ebay and also Yahoo Auctions (Japan) but don't seem to find anything.
Is there another way to make filters work? I have the Ricoh GR1s and since I shoot fast film, I want an ND filter for daytime.
Thanks,
Ben

Just to update - I managed to find the filter ring at a local auction here in Japan. As above mentioned by others - I just looked for filters and got lucky finding one that had the filter ring on it. Wasn't mentioned in the ad - I just spotted it by looking at the picture.
For those in Japan - I also since saw it for 1500yen (~12USD) at the Fujiya camera store's filter section in Nakano.
