Ricoh GXR A12 50 & 28 Image Thread

Maiku, great stuff. Care to share your post-processing for the portraits - really nicely done.

Sym101 - the 50/2.5 IQ is amazing. AF not so amazing, but still competent.

I love the 50/2.5's IQ. You're right about the AF, zuikologist. It's slow and hunts quite a bit but I'm ok with it. If I'm going to need fast AF I'll grab my OMD EM5.

Sym101,

Buying gear is a slippery slope. The 28/2.5 is simply stunning at times. I just bought a second body. It came with the 28-300 zoom. The zoom impresses me. I love the grain the 28-300 produces at 3200 ISO. Vintage in look.

Make sure you upgrade your firm ware so you can take advantage of the scene options on the control dial

Mike

Thanks for the advice, Mike. I'll keep a lookout for a 28/2.5 or a zoom kit. Would be nice to have a wide angle lens to complete the set.

More portraits. Only two-days to go before I leave Japan, so why not continue the Japanese Festival trend.

Made even more Poignant in knowing these Faces are your Last view before your next Great Journey abroad

Helen,

The journey has begun. I am in Canada. I have been here for 8-days. It has been a whirlwind with two toddlers in tow.

Mike

I forgot to mention the last set of portraits were with the A10 28-300mm zoom. As are these last photos of Japan at the Narita Airport.

One last photo from Japan. This photo was taken the last day I worked. The school was dismissed, but the school curriculum coordinator however found the time take this student aside to admonish her. The student was not happy as you can see from the photo. This will stick in my mind for a long time. I could really feel the anguish. Her look was "Oh, not again. What have I done this time?"

More photos from my GXR.

I hope I did not destroy my GXR. I left it in the car overnight. The temperature dropped to -2C. I put the camera is ziploc bag with some rice and brought it inside. I hope the camera dries out. I really hope the condensation does not destroy the camera and lens! DUMB!

Photos from my home town. I am experiencing reverse culture shock after my return to Canada. I guess I am seeing things in strong black and white emotions.

I am pretty sure these photos are taken with a conscious and unconscious mind.

Starting to see a Wouter Brandsma vibe in the predominant shadows and blacks. Good luck in staying centered as you negotiate the cultural change in this northern season.
