I have a Ricoh 519 that has the horizontal element of the rangefinder out of adjustment. Does anybody know where the horizontal adjustment screws are located? And if I have to remove the top of the camera, how do I remove the rewind lever?

Thanks,

Grant

It's been a long time, but I think it is under the cold/hot shoe. Sorry, the only way I could check would be to get mine out of storage. That's what I recall.

The top comes off easy. Yes, you have to remove the rewind lever. Easy to do. Stick a screw driver in the underneath turny thing that fits into the top of the film cartridge, then grasp the bit on top where the lever is, and turn is while holding the screw driver steady. I forget which way, but you'll figure it out. Comes right off. Most of them work like that. Either that or it has a small screw in the top which you can see once you flip the lever up. Should be easy to figure out which.

Thanks very much. I'll give it a try...it is an old and pretty beat-up camera but the lens and shutter look to be in good shape, which makes it perfect to tinker with.

I adjusted the rangefinder and shot a roll of film. I got some really sharp pictures...thanks again for your help.
