I like the photo he made with President Reagan and President of the Soviet Union Gorbachov and their interpreters.
Thanks for the link.
He left us too young.

When it's the first comment in a thread discussing the man's death. This isn't a critique of a new retrospective of his work, it's an obituary. Show some basic respect for the life of a man.
RIP
Well said.
His photograph of Reagan and Gorbachev is outstanding.

I see this thread has been edited! Not sure I'm happy about that because I thought members' replies were dealing with the 'unexpected' comment quite well.
In response I went looking for examples of Peter Marlow's work - to be honest I wasn't familiar with the extent of his collection but only really with the few shots that had made headlines.
I found that many of his photos had a simplicity about them - not minimal but going that way, and obviously not to everybody's taste. However I'm now curious to see how he has rendered 43 Cathedrals in England, photos of which to be shown in Coventry this coming April.
A careful curation of Marlow's many photographs will probably more readily reveal the significance of his contribution to photography - more than a loss to his grieving family: sympathies to them.

I think my comments were quite reasonable, as I was expressing admiration for his work. I have no idea why they were deleted.

I found out the reason -- it was because I had 'quoted' the original comments in question.
In any case, I greatly admired his work, and am sorry for his passing.

I loved his shots from Liverpool, especially the scavengers on the local tip. They were inspirational.
