I gotta take that Rollei 35 I have out again. I got the lens to retract finally. Now, it only focuses just past infinity. Hopefully, I can finally get a roll developed from it. The first two rolls I developed I destroyed. My kids distracted me and I let them develop for 30 minutes at 20C. UGH!
 
I agree about the Tessar. Can't go wrong with either the Tessar or the Sonnar. And no doubt the Xenar (which is supposedly a Tessar clone) and Biotar are no slouches either.

Here's a shot taken yesterday in Tokyo with my beater 35SE which I've finally fixed the frame spacing on.

Beautiful images on this thread. I particularly liked the way Bingley used his 35 Tessar to tame the sometimes overly saturated Ektar colors. I must try that combination myself.

Now my question. I have a crumbling rubber lens hood for my 35 Tessar that needs replacement. I like the looks of the original rectangle shaped hood but it's hard to find and costs too much for me anyway. Do you have suggestions for a lens hood other than the rubber hood?

Thanks, Matti. Have you tried Heavystar for a hood for a Rollei 35 Tessar? I'm lucky enough to have one of the original rectangle hoods in a hard plastic, but when I needed a hood for my 35S I found one at Heavystar's website.

That shot has gorgeous colors, Jon. I fav'd it over on flickr. What film were you using?
 
Thanks Steve! I used Kodak ProFoto XL 100 for that photo. Its a cheaper version of Kodak Ektar (apparently, but that's just based on comments I've read on the net) specifically made for the South East Asian market. I only know of one store where its available locally, and I have no idea where they get it from. At about $2.00 per roll of 135/36 its much cheaper than anything else available locally.
