The (Germany) Rollei 35 cameras were all made with a Tessar lens (with the exception of some special collectors models).

Is the printed book still available, Zeno? (I'm in the UK.)Thank you, jky!
After exposing 300 rolls of Polypan F in my Rolleis, I made a book with the photos that I like most.

The book is still available. Just click the link and order it;-) I´m now at roll 430 and I´m thinking about an updated edition after roll 500, so I´m afraid it will take some time.

Thanks Zeno for getting back and confirming so soon; I shall proceed with the order.
I may have mentioned a while back (on the sister thread 'A year with the Rollei 35') that I have the Rollei 35 LED with Triotar 3.5/40. Not seen many, if any, images on the thread taken with the Triotar; I suspect the output is somewhat inferior to the German Rollei lenses; softer possibly, but it could have its own character. I will see as soon as a run a roll and process.

Just completing the order page and in reading the terms and conditions. I note that Blurb is based in the USA, hence import duties and post office handling fees will be added and payable before the book will be released to me. I know from previous experience the UK postal handling charges alone are extortionate and I always try to avoid if possible.
Is the book available within the EU? As long as we remain in the customs union it is advantageous to purchase within the EU.

First, the Triotar lens is not so bad. I like the output of the three element lenses; but the handling of the 35LED is so bad for me that I use mine very seldom.
Second, I didn´t realize the changes in the shipping fees since Blurb bought magcloud. I think I will have to find another printing source here in Germany. If you have some patience I will find a way to send you a newly printed book.

Zeno, thanks for your thoughts on the Triotar. A 3 element lens sounds rather primative by modern standards, but that said I like the character of the Holga's simple meniscus lens, and sharpness edge to edge is vastly overrated don't you think.
Regarding your book, yes it would be most helpful to have it sourced within the EU. (And PS I would dearly like the UK to stay within the EU, or at least the customs Union. Madness not to do so.)

Zeno - I’ve admired your work since I first saw it. Postage to Australia cost a bit over half as much as the book, but it was worth it for me to be able to have a something I can hold and enjoy physically. Looking forward to the next one.

Service cost on one of these.
Service cost on one of these.
I bought a Rollei 35SE when I was in London 37 years ago. I must have only put around ten rolls through it. Just dug it out and the speeds are now off and the lens retracting suddenly does not like going in and out.
Just saw that Harry Fleenor services these things, anyone know his shutter clean and lube service prices on one of these cameras ?????
