Rules CameraQuest 21/1.8 Street Photogaphy Contest

Would like to change the title of my images to include where they were taken. I spent over one hour as the logged in owner of the images and couldn't find how!? Therefore I put the info in the Comments section out of complete frustration. I sent an email to help and never heard back.:bang:

I was successful in doing so and images are already gone.

too late for that. Entries are CLOSED. Modifying your entry in any way will automatically delete that entry.

OK, I tried this over 1 1/2 weeks ago and reread the posts in this thread only today. Someone posted in this thread that everything had changed as far as changing data. So I went in today and saw that yes everything HAD changed. I have a busy work schedule and cannot spend three hours a day sorting out issues in the Forum.
Again, I was unaware of this thread and sent a Help message that went to webmaster (whom ever that is) and never received a reply.
Had had put in Camera model, lens etc, and only forgot to put in where I shot the image and knew almost immediately. I could not find away to add this info so I added it to Comments section.
So after reading today that the submission area had changed and you could update the info., ALL I DID was add where it was shot at the end of the Title, then added it to the Notes field as well.
Suddenly both my images are gone from the contest.:bang:

Thank goodness, the Comments weren't wiped out as you can see in both posts, several days ago, I wrote about how I could not find a way of changing the title to include it there. I didn't learn until today Feb 2, that they had come up with a solution. therefore I ONLY changed the title (and Notes field).

Not to beat a dead horse, but i sent a question over a week before contest close and it was not answered. The Gallery should have been marked uneditable immediately. To change the way images could be submitted and edited, only a couple of days before close is kind of f*cked and then not notify all entrants things are easier.....

How did you figure the a closed contest gallery would still allow you to make changes?

Comments were editable before the contest was closed.

my photo Le Tréport, France was in the photocontest and has been deleted for a reason I ignore (actually it has been placed in the category All other without I did nothing special), I don't know why really, I could not replace it in the contest, it was not possible (though I had the time), the choice ‘contest’ was not available anymore on my computer
is it possible to do something?
thanks for reply, I did those printings specially for the contest (my other photo is on… that’s weird)

Yea, ..... glitchy forum menus equals removal from the contest. Any change (even before deadline) and your image is moved to "all other" category without any warning. Entered images on the 30th, just figuring it out now. Awesome.
 
My entry pics were taken with a cheap holga. That is what I had at the time. I now have a bessa R3A . Please do not judge me by the camera I used to take the pictures. Smiles:)
 
Weird one of my entries got bumped out even though it was definitely not edited after closing and I even checked beforehand to make sure that both images were in the proper category etc.

Maybe something went weird with the "Replace Image" feature which I did use a few days before the contest closed.
 
Eh, lets not get too hung up on the details here. This is a generous offer (and challenging to manage in the first place). I meant to submit held off to the last minute only to realize i was prepping a submission early in the early hours of the 1st. My fault. Didn't submit something but with some of the brilliant images posted I wouldn't have stood a chance. :) Best of luck to all.

If any pics are tied with the same total votes, there will be a two day run off.

All entries were deleted if members did not follow the rules and entered more than two pics.

You will not be able to vote for your own pic.

Votes will be public once the voting is closed.

Once cast, you will not be able to change your vote.
So take a good look at your choices!

One question: would it be possible to have the gallery sorted from Earliest-to-Latest posted as default? Lots of views seem to stall at the third page (if the viewcounts are any indication, and the latest getting the most views for a shorter time than the earlier entries is another indication)?

And a general suggestion to the general viewing public: if you select "80 per page" and then (after the page refreshes) click "Views" (to sort by # of views), you'll get a reasonable "interestingness"-sorted layout. Not perfect, but reasonable.

Unintuitively, though, "View All" next to the category will not show all for the category. It will literally show all, no matter what category.
