Rumor - new 30f1.4 apsc e mount plus adapter

Well it looks Sigma is not going to make FE mount lens for Sony a7 series, but it looks like they put out a new 30f1.4 DN series.

They did do maybe the next best thing though on the FE front. Rumor is a new adapter, I guess one for Canon and other for SA mount lenses that provide full electronics to their Sigma lenses include aperture, af and IS support.

I understand the Canon FE adapter, but the SA one is a bit puzzling but welcome, since SA mount is for their SD foveon based dslr.. That a pretty small user group tha would take advantage of this.. Not that I am complaining if this rumor is true since I fall in that small niche that has both an sd1m and a Sony a7 (used for legacy lenses). 😛 😀

Well it's official..

The mc-11 will adapt either a canon or sigma mount lens to an e or fe mount camera like a6000 or a7.

What is nice is not only does it retain full af but support for phase detect. I've got at least a couple of lenses that should work but some others on the list are I have are pre-art series.

Hmmm.. According to b&h it's compatible w/ e mount cameras including the a6000 and Nex series...

If it fits FE it fits E mount by definition.
Sony is willing to share their protocols for (F)E-mount, probably Fuji doesn't, making it much easier for Sigma to design for Sony then it is for Fuji.
